Google Student Ambassador Programme


Are you technically savvy and thrilled by new technology? Are you enthusiastic about Google products? Are you knowledgeable about your school and motivated to bring new opportunities to your peers? Do your friends call you a natural leader? If so, the Google Campus Ambassador role may be a perfect fit for you!The Google Campus Ambassador Programme is an opportunity for you to be a liaison between Google and your university. Ambassadors plan and host a few events during the school year, introduce students to new Google products and features, and act as a campus contact for Google teams.

Ambassadors may:
  • Work closely with local Google teams
  • Host and organize events to bring awareness to Google's products and brand
  • Spread the word about competitions, bootcamps, scholarships and other opportunities
  • Attend Google events as a Google representative
  • Help Google to better understand your campus' culture
  • Build relationships on campus with faculty and student groups
  • Test products and features
  • Promote product use and new product launches to students
  • Be a source of knowledge for your university about Google products
  • Spread Google goodwill to your fellow students
The Google Student Ambassador Programme is an opportunity for you to be a liaison between Google and your university. International Student Scholarship, Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), Ireland

The International Student Scholarship is available only to international students who are beginning an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at WIT for the first time.
A maximum of ten awards may be made annually, on an ex-quota basis with not more than four new awards being made annually in any one School.

Value
The International Student Scholarship will provide for a reduction in tuition fees of EURO 3,000 for one academic year for Undergraduate progarmmes and one year Higher Diploma programmes and EURO 3,150 for Postgraduate programmes.

The scholarship is available for the following programmes:
  • Undergraduate: Any 3 or 4 years degree programme. Scholarship available for entry into all years of Bachelor programmes except final year.
  • Postgraduate: One year taught master programmes

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following criteria:

  • The scholarships are open to international students only (Non-EU).
  • You intend to enroll on one of the above programmes
  • This is your first undergraduate, higher diploma or postgraduate enrolment at WIT in Ireland
  • You have an average result 75% in previous examinations
  • You have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.

How to apply
Before you can be considered for an International Student Scholarship you must have already applied for one of the programmes above. If you have not, please refer to the http://www.wit.ie/International/AdmissionProcedure/ for information on how to apply.

If you have already applied and received an offer of a place on a programme but not a scholarship, and believe you meet the above criteria then please send an e-mail quoting your file number to: international@wit.ie
Applications must be made on the prescribed form (complete the online application form) and submitted to the International office on or before 31st May 2012.

Developing Solutions Taught Masters Scholarships

Developing Solutions Taught Masters Scholarships: A number of 100% Tuition Fee Scholarships, plus an additional 60 Tuition Fee Scholarships – normally 75%, are available for new students from Africa registering on Taught Masters programmes (including MRes and Masters by Research programmes) at The University of Nottingham in September every year.
These are in the areas related to Environment, Food, Health and Technology.
The Developing Solutions Scholarship Fund will reach out to those students who have the potential to make a real difference to the development and prosperity of their home countries.
How to apply:
In order to apply for one of these scholarships you must: 

 =be holding a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on a full time Taught Masters degree programme at the University of Nottingham by September
=be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for fee purposes 
=complete the University of Nottingham online application 
=submit your application by May

The test date on the certificates should not be older than two years as from the deadline of online application
  1. Korean applicants must submit the score report from an official English test when they apply to UNIST. The above scores are a requirement for graduation, not for admission, and thus do not need to be met at the time of the application.
  2. Native English speakers are exempt from submitting a score. (U.S, Canada, U.K, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand) – When English is used as an official language in an applicant’s country, in addition to other languages, applicants are exempt from submitting a score when they apply for admission but must submit a certificate stating that they have completed all of their university courses in English for exemption.
  3. Except for the above case, every foreign applicant must submit an official English test score that exceeds the graduate standard.

UNIST Elite Fellowships
  • Who may apply : Excellent applicants within the combined Master’s-Doctoral Program or the Doctoral program
  • Number of Scholarships : Approximately 20 awards
  • Scholarship: 30,000,000 per year (Selected students are not allowed to also hold an RA/TA scholarship)
  • Term: 3 Years
Nobel R&D Fellowships :
Selected Ph.D course student supervised by Nobel laureates (UNIST Chair Professor) and UNIST academic advisor
Other condition is equal to Elite fellowship
Management
  • Students in master’s courses: above 840,000 per month
  • Students in Ph.D courses: above 1,040,000 per month
Engineering
  • Students in master’s courses: above 940,000 per month
  • Students in Ph.D. courses: above 1,140,000 per month
Dormitory
All Students can stay in the dormitory on campus
Important Information
  • Admission shall be cancelled if a successful applicant fails to pay the registration deposit or the tuition fee to the bank designated by the university.
  • Under no circumstance shall the submitted documents be returned.
  • Applicants are granted only one admission in one school.
  • The applicant is responsible for the disadvantages (including the cancellation of admission) caused by failure to submit required documents, errors or omissions in the documents, the failure to fulfill the requirements indicated in the guidelines, unclear addresses, correspondence failures, the failure to check the list of admitted candidates, the failure to execute procedures necessary to enter the country, etc).
  • If the applicant gained admission in an illegal manner, such as forgery or alteration of documents or through translation errors on the documents, and this fact was found while at school (or after graduation), the admission shall be cancelled (or all the academic records shall be erased). Furthermore, if a criminal case is suspected, the student will be reported to the authorities in both countries in accordance with the law.
  • All the documents should be translated into either English or Korean, and be notarized (or authenticated by a public notary).
  • International students should provide their own insurance against injuries or sickness and the insurance compensation limits must be a minimum of US$10,000.
  • Note: Travelers Insurance is available in Korea.
  • UNIST will provide many chances for scholarships for international students to ensure that they have a secure life while here in Korea.
